Corporal Daniel Holden Entered the South Carolina National Guard on September 27, 2001. Attended Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky from January 2002 until March 2002 and then went on to Fort Gordon, Georgia from March 2002 until May 2002 and graduated as a Cable Systems Installer and Maintainer (Communications Specialist). CPL Holden left the National Guard in September 2002 for Active Duty in the United States Army and received orders to Delta Company 57Th Signal Battalion at Fort Hood, Texas. While assigned to the 57Th Signal Battalion, CPL Holden deployed to Baghdad, Iraq from January 2004 until January 2005. While in Baghdad CPL Holden worked in support of Combined Joint Task Force 7 providing communication all over Iraq. CPL Holden deployed again from October 2006 until September 2007 to Iraq. During this time CPL Holden was stationed in Tikrit, Iraq in support of Multinational Division North where he provided communications for Northern Iraq. CPL Holden has also been to Germany, Kuwait, Greece, Italy, Spain, Amsterdam, and Hungary. Daniel has been in the U.S. Army for almost 6 years
and planning to make it a career. His goals are to become a member of
Special Forces (Green Berets) and continue serving his country. His awards
and decorations include 2 Overseas Service Ribbons, The Army Service Ribbon,
The Global War on Terrorism Service and Expeditionary Medal, The Iraqi
Campaign Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, The Army Good Conduct
Medal, 2 Army Achievement Medals, and The Army Commendation Medal. |
